Care for the students

BABSSCo courses have a high ratio of staff to students, so there are plenty of people looking after you and making sure you are safe and happy while you learn English and have a great holiday. Some of the staff are regular teachers at the schools themselves and some are students who recently attended our schools full time. Some are former BABSSCo students who have enjoyed our courses in the past so much they have now become staff members themselves! Where relevant, sporting and other activities are instructed by professional coaches.

The activities staff supervise and instruct you in sports and other activities and encourage you to learn new skills. They go on excursions with you and join in the evening social programme. Some staff members are resident and stay in the boarding houses to look after you in the evenings and at night.

An experienced senior member of BABSSCo staff is responsible for student welfare at each school.

The course staff accompany you at all times. On excursions, if you are 12 years old or over, we allow you to go shopping unsupervised in nearby areas but only if you are with other students. We must be told in writing by your parent/guardian if they do not want you to do this. Students aged 11 or under are not allowed to go shopping without a member of staff.

When you arrive in the UK, if you are arriving by plane, our staff meet you at the airport (see the table below for full details of which airport to arrive at for each school). They take you to the school where your course is taking place.

Free airport transfers are available from:

AIRPORT Harrow Mill Hill Rugby Dulwich Heathfield
Heathrow
Gatwick
Stansted
Birmingham
Luton

When you arrive at the school we welcome you and, after registration, take you to your boarding house. You have time to unpack, to take a shower or rest. We make sure that you have something to eat. We help you to call your parent/guardian to say that you have arrived safely.

On the departure day, the course staff continue to take care of you. If you are leaving by plane, our staff help you check in and stay with you until you have gone through into the departure lounge.
