The vacancies below are for applicants to BABSSCo courses at Harrow School and Mill Hill School. We regret that it is currently not possible to apply online for vacancies at any other of our centres. For information about jobs at our other centres, see Contact Us.
The Courses in 2012 will run from 12th July to 22nd August 2012 at Harrow School, and 12th July to 8th August 2012 at Mill Hill School. Positions at Harrow School are responsible for students aged 13-17, whilst positions at Mill Hill School are responsible for students aged 8-12 years old.
Please ensure that you will be available for at least two weeks of this period before you apply for a job. Courses last between two and three weeks, and staff will be selected on the basis they can fulfil the course dates. If your period of availability includes a day on which you will not be able to work (for example, a family wedding) please notify us in advance. It may be possible to incorporate this into your schedule.

Teaching Roles
EFL Teacher (English as a Foreign Language)
EFL Teachers are responsible for providing dynamic and effective lessons aimed at developing students’ listening, speaking and pronunciation skills. Lessons should be student-centred, communicative and help students get the most out of their time in the UK. Click here for the full job description.
Activities Roles
Activities Staff
Activities Staff are the backbone of the summer school, taking day to day pastoral responsibility for the children under the guidance of Activities Leaders and House Parents. They are flexible, hard-working and engaging. Staff are expected to supervise students in all activities outside of the classroom. Activities Leader
The Activities Leader is responsible for a particular group of students, to include caring for their well-being, pastoral needs and maintaining discipline. Management Roles
Activities Director
The Activities Director is the lead member of staff on site for all activities and pastoral care. Alongside the Director of Studies, they are responsible for the delivery of our courses. This individual needs to be experienced in student welfare, discipline, pastoral care, and staff management. This individual has responsibility for up to 50 members of staff at any one time. Activities Manager (Harrow Only)
The Activities Manager is responsible, under the direction of the Activities Director for delivering all leisure activities for students outside of their lessons. This involves planning and executing theme evenings, options afternoons and other activities. This individual also has administrative responsibilities for activity rotas, line management responsibility for the Activities Leaders, and is a deputy to the Activities Director when not available. Pastoral Manager (Harrow Only)
The Pastoral Manager, under the Activities Director is the lead member of staff on site with responsibility for pastoral care. This involves care in Boarding Houses, welfare provision, medical care, management of residential care and rotas for pastoral activities. This individual also has line management of House Parents which includes the rooming of all students on the courses. They are also a deputy to the Activities Director when not available. Finance Manager (Harrow Only)
The Finance Manager, under the Activities Director is the principal member of staff for all financial matters on the course. This includes administering the course accounting system, reconciling expenditure, petty cash, student pocket money, invoice management, subsistence, banking and budgetary reporting. Pastoral Roles
House Parent
The House Parent is responsible for the pastoral care of students in their Boarding House. They ensure students are well looked after, solve personal issues, maintain overnight discipline and provide medical cover to the School Nurse. Office Roles (Harrow Only)
Office Administrator
The Office Administrator, under the direction of the Operations Manager is the first point of contact for all enquiries into the Course Office, be they physical, e-mail or telephone. This individual manages the issues log for the centre that tracks all issues and their resolution. They provide reception duties for visiting agents and parents, alongside managing staff activity in and around the office to maintain a professional image at all times. The Office Administrator role starts in Mid May as a part time role working at BABSSCo Head Office with the Seasonal Staff Coordinator and Operations Manager preparing for the courses. Inventory Clerk
The Inventory Clerk, under the Operations Coordinator is responsible for the completion of both pre, post and mid let checks on all Boarding Houses and Classroom blocks used by the courses. This includes booking visits, recording information and defects and writing detailed reports. This individual is also Quartermaster for the centre, developing and managing a system of stock control (including keys). The Inventory Clerk also manages the relationship with the Works Department and is the Fire Officer for the Centre. Excursions Clerk
The Excursions Clerk, under the Operations Manager is responsible for preparing all information and bookings for off-site excursions. This includes where appropriate booking tour guides, buying tickets, confirming coaches, liaising with agents regarding their attendance on excursions, and preparing detailed packs for each excursion in advance. This individual also maintains an excursions manual, obtains feedback on excursions, and conducts risk assessments on each location we take our students. Click here for the full job description.
Junior Inventory Clerk
The Junior Inventory Clerk reports to the Inventory Clerk. They provide assistance in collating pre, mid and post let checks (including administrative computer work) and act as the deputy Quartermaster.
