Artistic Director: Tanya Ursova
Dr Tanya Ursova was awarded her Licentiate Teaching Diploma and MMus from of the Royal Academy of Music as well as her PhD in Music Performance from Goldsmiths College, University of London. Tanya is the recipient of various prestigious music awards and has given many conference and academic papers and recitals throughout the world including New Zealand, Australia, Russia, Ukraine, USA, Athens, Paris, Venice and London. Tanya also advises on all aspects of applying to the leading music Conservatories through CUKAS (Conservatoires UK Admissions Service) and has strong links with the leading Institutions.
Tanya recently represented the Royal Academy of Music at the International Conservatoires Festival with a performance in St Petersburg's famous Sheremetyev Palace. Tanya is also Music Consultant for Clifford Chance Law Firm, where she co-ordinates the Royal Academy of Music's piano teaching to staff, and the Centre for Russian Music events at Goldsmiths College, London. Tanya was invited to perform at the Hilton Arts Festival in South Africa earlier this year.
Artistic Director: Colin Stone
Colin Stone is a Professor of Piano at the Royal Academy of Music and an internationally acclaimed pianist. Colin first came to prominence in 1986 when he won the Royal Over-Seas League Piano Competition in London. In 1989 he made his debut as a soloist on BBC Radio 3 and, following the success of his live Concert Hall broadcast in 1990 and the subsequent Prokofiev series, is regularly invited to record for Radio 3. Colin’s first solo CD, of transcriptions by Prokofiev of his own theatre music, was released in 1994 on the United label and has been followed by a number of CDs for different labels including Olympia, Chandos and Merlin Classics. His discography is extensive, ranging from recordings of live performances taken from his Beethoven cycle to premiere recordings of contemporary music. He has recently performed the entire 24 Preludes and Fugues of Shostakovich to great acclaim in London, at an event specially introduced by Vladimir Ashkenazy.
Individual Tutor: Mayumi Iida
Mayumi Iida was born in Japan and started the piano at the age of three. She continued her studies at Tokyo University of Liberal Arts, where she was awarded first place at her Master’s recital, and at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she graduated from the postgraduate performance course with honours. She had encouragement at the International Schubert competition in Germany in 2002 and she participated with success in other international competitions. Her international engagements have included concerts in the UK and Japan.
Individual Tutor: Elena Vorotko
 Elena Vorotko was born in Togliatti, Russia and studied at the Central Music School, The Purcell School of Music, London and The Royal Academy of Music, London. Elena won her international recognition through success at numerous International Competitions and Festivals throughout Europe, Russia, South Africa and Japan. She has been awarded several prestigious awards including the Alfred Brendel Award, Harriet Cohen Bach Prize, Doris Starke Award.and Third Prize at the XVth J.S. Bach International Competition in Leipzig in 2006. One of the highlights of her career was a performance for HRH Prince Charles.
In 2005 Elena was chosen by the Keyboard Trust to give recitals in UK, Germany, Italy and the US and her debut at the Park Lane New Year Series 2006 at the Purcell Room was broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and won her great critical acclaim. Elena also plays the harpsichord and is a composer: Her vocal works have won First Prize at the International Competition ‘Riabinovie Griozy’ 2002 in Moscow.
